About Me

Edinburgh, United Kingdom
Hey! I am Chloe and I am going to France on Erasmus to continue with my French studies and explore and experience this beautiful country. I have traveled to many countries and actually lived in different parts of the world but never in France. However, I am from Spain and I know there are some similarities between the Spanish and French so I don't believe I am going to struggle with any cultural shocks because I have already grown up in a Mediterranean country. I love travelling and getting to know new places, I believe this benefits all people and makes them a lot wiser and knowledgeable which is a great benefit.

On the Jacob-Bellecombette campus there is a university library (BU), a restaurant (RU), general administration office, international office and laslty the university residences.

My campus is situated on a hillside overlooking Chambery and about a 15 minute walk into town.

There are 3 major faculties on campus:

Faculty of Literature, Languages and Human Sciences - Modern Literature, Foreign Languages, History, Sociology.

Faculty of Law - Law, Economics and Social Administration.

Institute of Business Administration - international management, tourism, hotel and leisure industries.

Accommodation:

There are a limited amount of bedrooms available on campus but exchange students have high preference over local students. Instructions will be sent in a welcome package by the university in preparation for the arrival.

It is my responsability to confirm my reservation with the residence by letter or email, make sure i keep to the deadline indicated, send my confirmation documents and make the payment request by cheque or bank transfer.

CROUS is the university's residence name and they are in charge of finding a residence for students.

Insurance is also vital to have in France for accommodation. When I am in Chambery i will have to contact SMERRA student mutual organisation and my French bank. The insurance will cost around 30-50 euros a year.

France also offers an extra student fund towards accommodation which is called APL. I may be able to apply for this fund once I have my own french address, bank details, passport to give to them.
